Foundations for Oily Skin!

So I’ve decided to create a post solely on foundations that I love for my oily skin, and when I say I have oily skin. I honestly can wear most foundations at the most for 4 hours and it slips off then it’s not meant for my skin type. I’ve tried so many foundations and have hated so many, and at this moment I’ve found four foundations that I have bought so far that definitely live up to a matte finish. One of them being a holy grail for me, but we’ll get to that in a second ;). I’m super picky about foundations and have a tendency to like a full matte and poreless finish, so I stay away from glowy luminescent finishes because it would be falling off my face by the end of a work shift. but, don’t get me wrong, I love adding a highlight to make my skin looking glowy. Typically I can deal with setting spray, and a powder but honestly it’s dependent on my mood. These four foundations have been tried and tested, and what works for me may not work for you. I have sensitive skin as well, and none of these have broken me out which is great! I’ve noticed that I’ve been going more towards higher-end foundations just because it’s the most effective, but I do love my Maybelline Fit Me! foundation and it only costs around 8$. In no way does the order matter, it’s just the way its been written.

I just love the three high end ones below▽

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte & Poreless: Drugstore brands and foundations can be super hard for me, typically tan shades are either too orange or too pink, but I’m so grateful that ever since this line came out it became so much easier to find a Neutral shade of foundation that correctly matches my skin tone and undertones.  Much like the original Fit Me!, the Matte & Poreless is just as good and longer lasting! The only downfall is that it doesn’t have a pump so if you’re not careful it can get a little messy. Maybelline Fit Me! is pretty great and has a wonderful price tag to go along with it. So if you’re in the market for a true matte foundation that is a cheaper option; then definitely grab this one!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation:  I cannot say enough good about this foundation, it’s light and still manages to be full coverage. Personally for me, I don’t need a primer to set it and that is saying something. The fact that it has sunscreen made it great to take with me on my trip overseas and it’s not a liquid foundation but a mousse was also a perk. Tarte states that the Amazonian clay component to the foundation adjusts to the wearer no matter if they are oily, combination and or dry skin! The foundation is on the average price point, costing 39$ no matter where you get it.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation: This was probably my first higher end foundation that I tried and literally used it to the last drop and it comes with a pump, which is honestly a god send! This is my holy grail and the only reason I have 4 foundations to tell you about is because I switch it up so my skin doesn’t freak out on me and get used to the foundations. According to Too Faced, this foundation is infused with coconut water which I was initially weary about but it doesn’t make my skin feel overly greasy but it definitely needs a primer, setting powder and setting spray so It’s not the easiest to work with but it’s well worth a try.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation: OKAY, this is by far my favorite foundation by far! I cannot say enough about this foundation because it genuinely lasts HOURS. I could wear this all night and it lasts the entire time with very little coming off. It is the most expensive foundation that I own so far but honestly it is by far the best purchase I’ve made! I tell everyone and anyone about it when they are looking for a foundation that suits Oily skin. Also, it doesn’t come with a pump but you can purchase a mac pump online or in store I believe to add it to the bottle, because it fits perfectly according to a few other reviewers.

What a really useful post! I never wear foundation because it would only last a couple of hours on me too. But I am going to try the Estee Lauder one now, I think. Thank you!

Being an oily-skinned girl, I have ALL of these, except the Born This Way foundation. There were mixed reviews over the shades when it came out so I was hesitant so I really want to try it now!

    Much love xx

I’m running out of my bb cream from Japan (so I can’t get it again for a while) so I might pick up the Fit Me foundation since it’s rather cheap and good for us oily skinned gals 🙂

    Thanks for sharing

Yes, it’s an awesome alternative since it’s on the cheaper side, and buildable if you want fuller coverage as well.
